What should I do if I bought the tube which says 1 part of color with 2 parts of the developer? Does it mean using twice as much developer as the color? For example, when I use 2oz of color in the tube, would I will get 4oz. of the developer?

I think it will be okay if you choose to mix 2 different colors as long as the colors you choose are not too different and they come from the same brand. To avoid dramatic change, I would suggest you take a strand by the nape of your neck to try the color mixed in order to see what the color will actually turn out!

Almost all the colors I choose for my hair needs to be mixed from at least two colors. I do it so that I can get the best part of both colors. For instance, you can use one color to cover the light natural color such as gray or platinum; however, the color will give the hair with a too warm tone, so that you will add a color with ash tone to resist the warmth. The important thing that you need to remember is that all the things which are put into a color formula is for a reason. So that don’t randomly mix all the colors together. Also, it is not a good and ideal way to mix different dye products from different brands. Brands have their own mixing proportions and developer which are designed for consistency and easy way of application among other things.

I do this thing all the time I am at work. These two things can really affect your result: 1. The level of the colors that you want to mix, and 2. your present tone of hair. You will need to choose 2 colors which the level of them are close to each other. It’s okay to mix a level 6 color with a level 8 color, but you cannot choose to mix a level 1 with a 10. When the tones go, you might want to choose tones that compliment each other. If you are not really sure about how the mixed colors will become, or what the results will be, you should try sometimes in order to be certain that you will get your desired results.
